Data Driven Journalism Training

Are you aware that data journalism is the future of journalism? and that Online journalism is pertinent with data journalism? and that the internet revolution plus Tanzania's decision to join Open Government Partnership present a unique opportunity for flourishing of data driven journalism? The European Center for Journalism and Data Driven Journalism are co-organizing a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Data Driven Journalism (DDJ). The course started yesterday (19th May) and will end up on 31 July 2014. Registration is free and ongoing! What you need is internet connection to access course materials/tutorials. On top of that, the Dar es Salaam Open Knowledge Community, Buni Hub and Tanzania Media Forum will be co-organizing local learning group meeting ups once per week. The purpose of these meet ups is to bring learners together to share their learning experiences and think ahead on future collaborative projects on data journalism etc.

With this note, the Dar es Salaam Open Knowledge Community, Buni Hub and Tanzania Media Forum, invite all interested in this course to attend the first meet up to be held on Saturday 24th May 2014 at Buni Hub from 11.00am. to 13.00pm. The meet up aims to orient learners on data journalism and set a data journalism learning network/group.
